1950s Gibson ES-140
Rare as a leprechaun ES-140 – deep body in brown/pink case
Rare 3/4 sized vintage archtop guitar with single P-90 pickup. Loud and playable as a full size, more adorable too!
Great either acoustically or plugged into your favourite vintage amplifier and it will fit on the tour bus.
This is an original and great playing example of the Gibson ES-140 and is especially rare as the full-bodied version was discontinued after 1957 in favour of a thinline model.
The guitar has incredible resonance in all registers despite the size and the instrument really sits comfortably to play. Comes with lined hard case.

Gibson ES-140 Description
First introduced by Gibson in 1950, the Gibson ES-140 is a rare 3/4 sized vintage archtop guitar with single P-90 pickup rather like a mini-version of their ever popular ES-175 but with a slimmed down body ideal for traveling musicians. If you want a great guitar for the tour bus then look no further!
This is an all original and great playing example of the ES-140 and is especially rare as the full-bodied version was discontinued after 1957 in favour of a thinline model. The guitar has incredible resonance in all registers despite the size and the instrument really sits comfortably to play.
The neck is fast and slim with a rounded ‘C’ profile, making articulate single-note runs and long stretch chords a breeze to play. Both acoustically and electrically this guitar just sings and weighing in at 3lb. 11oz. (1.96 kg) there’s no risk of backaches here. the single P-90 gives you the clear classic tone you’d expect from these legendary pickups and would suit players in a variety of musical styles, ranging from blues to rock and jazz.
The overall condition of the ES-140 is good with player wear to the fretboard and many honourable dings especially around the headstock. The guitar plays exceptionally well in all registers and the frets are well seated and crowned with plenty wear left in them.
