66 Guild Starfire 3 – sexy red tone hound
There was something so sexy about this vintage Guild Starfire 3 that made me keep-on taking pictures! With it’s glorious translucent ‘Starfire Red’ finish scuffed from appearing in just the right number of sixties gigs, to the twin Guild humbucker pickups and Guild Bigsby tremolo and original Guild hard case, this is everything you would want from a vintage guitar.

This Guild Starfire 3 is so easy to play and looks so damn good hanging from your shoulders as you play through those blues licks. I mention this because someone did ask me for a mirror to see just how Starfire Red looked on him. It looked great, so he got it!
The pictures tell the story better than I can in words. it’s got plenty of honest player wear: belt buckle scars and scuffs at the top of the headstock, yet if it was a Gibson it would be twice the price. Guilds are still the best value vintage guitars on the market and being from 1966, this one has the oh-so desirable fingerboard made from that precious and desirable hard-wood whose name we dare not speak for fear of attracting the attention of the recently-envigorated enforcers of the Cites laws.
