66 Gibson ES125 TC
Description
This vintage Gibson ES125 thinline cutaway has been fully set-up and plays really well. It’s had a neck reset and the frets have been stoned, and it’s fitted with .011” strings. Actually, this was my personal guitar for a year – I like “players” guitars like this, as I don’t have to worry too much about keeping them pristine. So you can use, play and really enjoy this guitar, without risking your investment.
It’s great to play – well, I really, really like the thinline 125s. The guitar is very well proportioned with a 16” lightweight body, and thinner mid sixties neck profile. This one is very slightly thicker than the thinnest necks that appeared in the later 60s (they were 1 9/16”).
The neck position P-90 packs a mighty punch – everybody loves the sound of P-90s when they hear them and many people (myself included) actually prefer them for quite a lot of playing styles.
If you just want a great vintage guitar that you can carry around, play and rely on, without spending a lot of money (at least another £500), then this is the guitar for you. Have fun and enjoy – I know I did :-)
