Hagstrom I solid body
Description
How’s this for a guitar that defines the look of the 60s? You’ve gotta hand it to the Swedes, they do have a bit of a handle on style, and the Hagstrom I certainly captures the look of the swinging sixties. Come on, just look at that those slider switches. Then notice that the back is covered in vinyl – how futuristic that must have seemed at the time?
Also, with typical Swedish efficiency, Hagstrom (really Hagström ) serial numbered every single one of their instruments, from the very first one. See, it’s not that difficult after all… yes, we’re looking at you, Gibson and Fender!
This effortlessly cool guitar is very clean, the plastic around the jack plug (a typical weak point for the model) is all good and the neck is slim and fast.
