Description

This 14 year old Gibson Les Paul comes from a heritage of great guitars - everyone knows how mind-shattering the LP Standard sounds, but what sets this ’96 model apart from the rest is the lush heritage cherry sunburst colour and the smoking hot PAF humbucker pickups. The majority of Les Pauls from this era tend to have flame top, vintage sunburst or red wine finishes, and as you can see from the pictures above this desirable finish looks fantastic with contrasting crème with silver lettering.

When compared side by side with the 81 Les Paul (which in theory is the more desirable guitar, we have to admit that this guitar has the edge – and it’s all down to those Classic 57 humbuckers (Gibson’s name for their modern PAF pickups.) A very nice feature. Buy this guitar for its looks and it’s pickups, you will not be disappointed and that’s a guarantee!

The neck has a classic ’59 profile, which feels oh so comfortable. The fingerboard is rosewood with pearl trapezoid inlays, 22 frets in total with the body joint at the 17th. It has the modern Gibson Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge, which has a marginally wider footing than the Gibson bridge typically seen on older models and is believed (by Gibson) to be superior.

Completely original, this guitar has moderate wear including a small dent on the back of the neck behind the 3rd fret and one on top near the 17th. It also has three small dents on the neck pick up cover and two fractures radiating from the pickguard fixing screw. Also, there is lacquer crazing on the headstock around the tuner posts. See the pics for all these.

This great-looking, great-sounding Les Paul is strung with a set of D’Addario 10s and includes a modern hard case.
