Description
The thing about Guilds is they are superb quality. Arguably better than Gibsons (and for that reason often tipped to be the best buy in vintage guitars as they are usually less expensive than their Gibson counterparts).
This guitar is in incredible condition. There’s a small scuff on the back of the neck and a tiny ding on the front, otherwise it’s mint. That makes this guitar an excellent collector’s / investor’s piece.
Playing-wise, it’s very versatile. You may think that having only a neck position pickup would be limiting, but if so, you haven’t reckoned on Guild. You see, everything works fully on a Guild, so that knob which says ‘tone’ actually changes the sound very considerably, giving plenty of different sounds. The body depth gives a superb acoustic resonance, but it’s a little shallower than the equivalent Gibson 175, so the sound doesn’t always have to be quite as definitively jazz. That’s determined by the tone control.
