Description

The J-45 is probably Gibson's most popular acoustic guitar ever made and arguably, their best flattop. Neither expensive nor fancy, the J-45 sounds and plays good. They made them from 1942 to 1982, then re-introduced them again because it’s such a great guitar. You know you’ve got a good one when you hear that lovely warm and fat sound.

This one goes way beyond warm and fat! When you strike a chord on this J-45 you’ll have a grin on your face, because the sound is warmer and fatter than any you’ve heard. The bass is so intense that when I played it, Barry, who was playing a Martin D-28 at the time, said he could feel the J-45 through his soundboard!

Everyone who plays this guitar loves it. Not just for its amazing sound, but the whole vintage vibe. It’s well-worn and somewhat shabby, the top and back have moved and split in the past and there are numerous dings, but the colour is perfect and the wear is honest and it just plays and sounds like a dream. It really is “Just a Great Guitar”.

The cracks have all been professionally repaired and cleated by Graham – you’ll see the little blocks on the inside. More importantly, the guitar is absolutely stable, so you have no worries about further movement (provided you don’t bake, freeze or bath it of course)

This is a player’s guitar, so buy it to play: I promise you you’ll love it and your audiences will too.
